Image editing happens in your browser
Converting, resizing, compressing, cropping, and rotating in Appzo Tools all happen entirely within your web browser using the canvas API. For those five tools your files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers — there is no network request carrying your image at all.
The metadata editor is the exception
The Image Metadata Editor works differently, and we want to be explicit about it rather than bury it. Reading and writing EXIF, IPTC, and XMP tags correctly requires ExifTool, a native program with no browser equivalent. When you use that tool your image is uploaded to our server over HTTPS.
There, it is written to a private temporary location so ExifTool can read and modify its tags, and it is removed when your session ends. We do not store it permanently, we do not back it up, we do not inspect its contents, and we do not share it with anyone. The tool’s own page carries a notice saying this before you upload anything.
Information we collect
We do not require an account and we do not collect or retain your images. We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics (such as page views and general device type) to understand usage and improve the product. This data cannot be used to identify you.
Cookies and local storage
We use minimal local storage to remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party services
If we use privacy-respecting analytics, those providers process only anonymized usage data. We never share image content because we never receive it.
